Every home and business needs a fire extinguisher on site. The unit needs to be placed in an area that is easily accessible by all and its functionality checked regularly. One can google the frequency depending on the unit purchased or refer to the operations manual as a reference. Safety is key in the event of a fire so do not hesitate to get one or check the unit currently in your possession. Did you know that possessing a fire extinguisher can also provide discounts on your home and business insurance?

Here is our  PSA based on the recent recall from Kidde, On November 2, 2017, the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall of about 37.8 million Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles and push buttons in the United States, and approximately 3 million more in Canada. The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
